Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-min split the Golden Boot trophy last year after each scoring 23 goals.
The Liverpool footballer Salah has already won this prize three times, which is the same amount of times as Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who is constantly a contender.
The competition for the Premier League Golden Boot is currently being led by Harry Kane and Erling Haaland, with Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka from Arsenal also performing well.
Haaland has been in outstanding form, scoring eight goals for Manchester City in two games in the FA Cup and Champions League. Despite failing to score in six of his previous 11 Premier League contests, he continues to lead the league in goals scored thanks to his goals in City’s most recent triumphs over Arsenal, Bournemouth, and Crystal Palace.
Before January, Haaland became the first player in the Premier League to score 20 goals. Since then, he has surpassed Salah and Son Heung-23-goal min’s winning total from the previous campaign.
He has also surpassed Sergio Aguero’s previous mark of 26 for the most goals scored by a Manchester City player in a Premier League season.
Haaland has a sizable lead over Kane, his closest competition for the Golden Boot, because to his consistency throughout the season. While Haaland presently has 28 league goals from just 26 outings, Kane has been unable to close the gap.
With 21 goals in 28 Premier League games this season, Kane has been doing well. If not for Haaland’s outstanding performance, Kane would be a strong candidate for the golden boot.
Other players who are vying for the golden boot include Toney, Rashford, Salah, Mitrovic, Martinelli, Saka, and Odegaard. Havertz leads Chelsea’s scoring lists, while Son, who shared the Golden Boot with Salah last year, has only scored six goals so far this year.
The highly anticipated Cristiano Ronaldo only managed one goal this season.
